Analysis on Mass Screening Results of Cervical Cancer , at Health Center in a Province



Abstract
This study was analyzed 33,385 among of 65,417 cases cervical cancer mass screening results performed during five years period from 1991 to 1995 at health center of the C-Province.
The results were as follows ;
1. 98.4 % of the cases was normal, re-exam and suspicious 1.6 % during 1991?1994. Also in 1995, 97.2 % of the cases was normal, more than class III 2.8 %. There were most common in age of 60 with abnormal cytologic finding rate, and the abnormal rate was increased by more age(p < 0.001).
2. In 1995, the rate of nonspecific inflammation was 35.3 %, trichomonas 1.2 %, human papilloma virus 0.4 %. Also the rate of class I and II versus more than class III was 69.2 % with human papilloma virus, 2.9 % with trichomonas.
3. Cost per a lesion for re-exam. and suspicious was calculated as 302,730 won,- for suspicious as 2,067,797 won in cytological results during from 1991 to 1994. In 1995, cost per a lesion for class III was calculated as 202,365 won and for class N as 1,403,906 won, for class V as 44,925,000 won and for all the lesions as 176,176 won.
